Duy Huynh & a FULL bath bomb

29/12/2007

As its christmas (ish) I decided to treat myself to a full purple bath bomb this evening, and felt I had to get my moneys worth so sat in the bath for nearly an hour. Bathing complete I begun to stand up, the heat went to my head and felt myself begin to faint. I didnt.

So on with itunes and an art hunt, my lilac infused self came across this lovely artist of fantasticness

Full of warmth and character, reality, dreamy, wishy washy. Im not normally a super fan of illustration, but these seems to speak to me

Do check out Duy Huynh’s site over here: http://www.duyhuynh.com/

What happened to poppy pop pop? (EPIC BLOG)

23/12/2007

You may think me some format of art snob, only liking the finer things in life, fine wines, fast cars, big house, art on the wall, legions of oily ladies at my command…well you’d be quite right. (ho ho ho how I joke on only coffee:1)

I miss pop, really crap pop, with no other purpose than to entertain, its not trying to be taken serious, there is no super super deep meaning..it’s just to entertain and make you happy, and have a laugh. JUST music, they arent claiming to be gods… I’ve slipped once more into a rant so I’ll stop.

Some recent good un’s:

Makes me think of roasting summers, sweatiness, a lovely warm coffee, blazing sun, coconut sun tan lotion….POWER TO THE GEEK

Next tonight Matthew, gosh this takes me back to my university days, this lass totally disappeared after this, buts its lovely, makes me remember my first experiences of coffee and the resulting tower that was constructed out of the used polystyrene cups..

This be an all time piece of yummyness:

Another one from university days, whilst most where out doing what students do with beer, girls and R&B, I was queuing in HMV, drinking too much coffee and buying Allstars singles (to the horror of Uncle Phil who became rather traumatized being a fan of ‘good music’)…(Uncle Phil was not my uncle, he disappeared shortly after the purchase of this single, ive not heard from him for many a year)

And to round of this ramble, what poppy collection would be complete without Miss Moore…who unfortunately has disappeared from the racks at HMV despite my efforts of taking her CD’s and placing them ontop of her rivals:

I may return with another ramble on a similar subject soon :-) Safe sailing voyagers!

Festive man of snow

7/12/2007

Need I say anymore for this? Back inth day (I talk as though I was there back in the day, I wasn’t), back in the day channel 4 took a bit of a chance on this, and now its become a classic forever.

Silence, haunting.. perfection. I adore the fact that theres no dialect anywhere, and it doesn’t need any. This realy is thinking outside of the radio 1 box, snowmen getting together and coming alive…

Imagine the man hours with those crayons and coloured pencils. It all works so well, I want to live inside it, makes me think of perfect Christmases, roaring fires, chintz on the wall, turkey cooking, red wine, awful christmas decorations…

Its horrible to say it, but I’m not a fan of ‘old’ animation, the old disney stuff really doesn’t do anything for me, but I adore this

When the first curly child is born he / she will be forced into watching the snowman every year until they are old enough to learn how to unlock the door and negotiate the mighty moat around the cottage/farm.

Yes the christmas spirit has suddenly descended upon me, is it too early to send Christmas cards?
