Im feeling greeny today. I do adore this wonderful stumpleupon find above. That wonderful mix of not quite there-ness, misty dream-ness and all types of ness.

Some more wonderful green by Jean Gabrial Lambert:

What is it that makes green so appealing today?

I do enjoy colour theory…should we investigate further?

“Culturally, green has broad and sometimes contradictory meanings. In some cultures, green symbolizes hope and growth, while in others, it is associated with death, sickness, envy or the devil.”

“GREEN relates to the HEART chakra Associated organs to this chakra are the heart and breasts. The gland is the thymus gland. This chakra relates to love / self love. that is to say the ability to give and take unconditionally. When balanced we are able to give this love and also to love and nurture ourselves, warts and all. ”

This bit is rather interesting (yes its me again, you may notice the return of bad spelling and/or grammer:

Green has great healing power. It is the most restful color for the human eye; it can improve vision. Green suggests stability and endurance. Sometimes green denotes lack of experience; for example, a ‘greenhorn’ is a novice. In heraldry, green indicates growth and hope. Green, as opposed to red, means safety; it is the color of free passage in road traffic.

- (me again…) the most restful colour? I do enjoy that fact very much!

I hope this ramble of green has been of interest. Do have lovely days windmillers, as soon as I have official windmill t shirts you can all have one

Im not normally a fan of painting, it took no less than 5 coats of white paint to restore the red walls in my previous house to their original state. During this time I fell of the ladders twice and vowed never ever to paint a wall again.

Im not normally a fan of painted art either, I have such ‘wonderful’ memories of being dragged around galleries looking at endless oil paintings of people I dont know, dont care about, and shouldnt have been painted in the first place.

But now and then something pops up that changes my mind – a previous post on the mill here about elephants also did this.

link a roo to that post

Art poloneck time – there is something about the brush strokes, they are blurred, a bit messy, not clinical, almost steamy, misty, half remembered, the edges forgotten. Its a lovely quiet image, but so much going on, there is something about her facial expression…im just not sure what.

I do hope you enjoyed it, I must go and see if puppy requires a poo, he ate a full bag of suet today…

Safe dreams windmillers.

In college for some reason I developed an obsession with the idea of a ‘man in flight’ i used to sit at the back of the library with a fellow loner, and some how the ‘man in flight’ was borne, simply a stick man in clouds – the idea was to become a concept album of semi ambient chilled music – but as with the rest of the project ideas entering my brain..it became shelved.

Isnt this man in flight wonderful though?

All the arty poloneck discussions can be done on lovely brushwork, lovely colour, and a feeling of movement. I do adore this ever so – its title is ‘A resemblance of time passing’ – what a scrummy title.

Ohhhh a brief google has revealed more of the artist – Cynthia Breusch

There are also some fabulous paintings of land and buildings, but its these portraits that have me captivated. I do hope you enjoy them
