Wintery sounds ludovico einaudi

25/11/2007

The ocean smashing against the shore, windy hills, shifly shafly whispy misty forests…snowing on the beach, candles on a hillside, watching the stars on a warm night with a glass of whisky…

Gosh I adore this man. His music is so simple, but gorgeous. I try to see him live whenever I can, his music seems to have spoken to everybody, seeing him live theres people from all walks of life with all colours of hair, not just the classical hob nobs.

This is one of his latest and similarly gorgeous it be:, the more casual readers in need of quicker satisfaction may wish to fast forward this one to the middle…

Close your eyes and listen to this lovelyness:

The chap is sooo humble and lovely, he’s so happy that everybody enjoys his music and almost seems surprised that they do, he’s not pretentious in any way which all the art worlds are far too full of.

Calm sailing

The Pipes

24/11/2007

Im not sure there is much else in the world that can rouse the goosebumps as a good bit of bag piping in front of a crowd of people…if this man ever does a concert anywhere I will get myself in debt to go there.

Todays caffeine intake is rather high and the jitters have come so apologies for the lack of humor and curious tales.

The ANGER DOME

26/10/2007

I seem to have a curious creature which resides within me, and he only makes his presence known now and then, but when he does, oh by jingo does he.

Furious spirals of wurling jergos and jingos, some kind of cave man within shows his self, I change and become somebody else, almost like being under the influence of that bad purple calpol slime from Ghostbusters 2…but alas Egon is not around to save the day, we’ll need something more powerful than that.

I have the answer.

Bloody big bells. I know mentioning Mike Oldfield and you probably only think of tubular bells 1 and the damn bloody exorcist ……. but theres something far superior about his third bells that can destroy any monster.

Whilst writing tubular bells 3 mr oldfield was having some troubles of his own and it shows in this dark masterpiece of wind, rain, drums and bells. When it reaches its dramatic climax it seems like he has conquered his monsters, fighting them away, forcing them out, out into the rain. And then gives them a reet good bashing with some bloody big bells.

Im not really a fan of loud music for the sake of it, but this has to be played loud, it has to hurt to bring those inner nasties out, like a facemask of the soul.

Heres a youtube of the climax:

Another lovely bit

That man can move his blinkin finger:

Next time an inner nasty takes hold, I do you hope try the bells, once in your soul they never leave.

Whilst I’m here rather late rambling about the fine Mike Oldfield, Ill give a pre ramble on his forthcoming fully orchestral project ‘Music of the spheres’ which looks fascinating!

hypnotic

5/10/2007

Im a little so tired so not sure if ive spelled hypnotic right, yes it think its fine…after mistaking the smash container for sugar this morning i ended up with potato tastic coffee, one of those odd days of sleep deprovation, which brings me to this piece of sleep depro hypnotic intocicating yummyness (yes spell police)

Ill show you then you can decide if you want to read on whilst listening..and do just listen as the video seems to have slipped into young keneths youth bin - although i like the wallpaper - but chintzy wallpaper is very overdone these days?

Lovely unexpected chord changes, sending me all over the place, wurling and burling, swirling and murbling all over, it just sucks you in, and twists you and turns you, and then like the coffee, you must have another

..and another

do give it a wurl, Ill leave my ramble here today
